IHERITAGE Partners Explore Byblos for Pilot AR VR Projects and Immersive History Experience

During the IHERITAGE 5th steering committee in Lebanon, the consortium partners from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon visited the UNESCO heritage site of Byblos to explore potential locations for their pilot AR VR innovative projects.
The Beirut Chamber organized the site visit on the second day of the meetings, where Dr. Rachid Chamoun, Director of LAU Louis Cardahi Foundation, and archaeologist Julien Chanteau welcomed the delegation in presence of Director General of Beirut Chamber, Rabih Sabra, and the Head of Development Projects, Hana Nehme.
The Experts provided a presentation on the historical significance of Byblos and showed the sites where the AR VR products would be developed for public use as part of the project activities. Finally, a large festival and artistic show is planned to be held at Byblos marina by Beirut Chamber in August 2023, which will provide an immersive and fascinating experience showcasing the history of this UNESCO city.
